On February 28 and 29, Catholic Charities East Bay hosted the launch of an Advocacy Forum on Practical Solutions to Address Homelessness. We are the host and funder of this nine-part series that is underwritten by a generous donor who specified that they wanted a portion of their gift to increase advocacy at the federal level for solutions to homelessness. To accomplish this, we partnered with Catholic Charities USA who designed and facilitated the program.
As it goes on the road to eight other locations across the nation, we are building a body of work that will elevate the effectiveness of federal advocacy, offering insight into what is working locally and what is getting in the way. Participants included local Catholic Charities and other service providers as well as representatives from numerous federal agencies and the Governor’s office.
Catholic Charities USA is one of the nation’s largest comprehensive health and human services organizations, providing services in the United States and territories through a network of 168 Catholic Charities agencies serving the needs of the communities in which they are located.
