On Saturday, February 10, Catholic Charities joined Faith in Action and nine other agencies at an Immigration Forum that took place at Divine Mercy Parish in Oakland.
The Catholic Charities immigration legal services team members provided a total of 180 consultations on legal matters ranging from visas, to residency, to citizenship. More than 350 people attended the event. In total, nine participating agencies provided information on school enrollment, consulates, and other social services.
Looking ahead, Catholic Charities will join two other events in March.
The first on Sunday, March 10 in Brentwood, in partnership with Faith in Action and Hijas del Campo focusing on providing services to farm workers.
The second is Saturday, March 16 at Ygnacio Valley High School in Concord, in partnership with Faith in Action and Stand Together Contra Costa.
